The Connection Agreement System

The Connection Agreement System

A proven solution for the design and administration of sensitive networks

In order to administrate networks where sensitive data are exchanged or services connect multiple participants, UNI•C has designed and implemented a solution that offers a very high level of security: the Connection Agreement System.

This generic solution was initially developed by UNI•C for MedCom in order to administrate the Danish Healthcare Data Network and has now been implemented in other networks. The properties of the CAS make it particularly suitable to exchange data in the health sector.

Today, all hospitals, all pharmacies, all local authorities, 2/3 of GPs, 80% of specialized doctors and most vendors, laboratories etc., are connected to the healthcare data network, enabling clients to communicate with service providers in the field of healthcare, in a simple, fast and manageable way. It has also been implemented within the Swedish Healthcare Data Network.

But in reality, this generic solution can be implemented for any kind of data networks. Some pilot projects are currently investigated in Sweden, Australia and the United Kingdom.

What is the Connection Agreement System?

To put it shortly, the Connection Agreement System (CAS) is a web-based agreement system which concludes bilateral agreements between clients and providers within a data network.

It is a flexible system for administering connections across both Internet-based (unsecured) network and fixed closed network infrastructures.

The solution provides a comprehensive overview of approved connection agreements between parties, and a protection against unauthorized activities. In this way the connection agreement system makes it possible for organisations connected to a network to easily and safely exchange data and facilitate services.
