EdReNe – The Educational Repositories Network

IT for Education

EdReNe is a network established to improve the provision of, and access to, learning resources.

Many European countries have established national repositories of educational resources. They have been established by national authorities, professional enterprises and educational institutions.

EdReNe is a network of these educational repositories and other educational resource stakeholders.

The EdReNe currently comprises 46 members in 19 countries. Among the members are national centres for ICT in education and content providers such as educational institutions, publishers and their organizations.

The objective of the Thematic Network is to bring together the web-based  learning-resource repositories with content owners and other stakeholders in education. Together, members share, develop and document strategies, experiences, practices, solutions, practical guidelines and recommendations.

A collegial network of European repository nodes and stakeholders has been established, and representatives meet at semi-annual strategic seminars and expert workshops.

The output of the EdReNe network is published on the EdReNe website, including recommendations, documentation, templates, road maps and documents describing state-of-the-art solutions. It also includes possible solutions to the problems described above.

UNI•C is coordinator of EdReNe.
